Multi-Wave Optical Vibe Shifter
The Miraj is, at it's heart, a four stage, optical phase shifter. It utilises an all analog signal path and a similar led/ldr mechanism as the fabled Univibe, which provides a wonderfully analog interface to the digitally controlled, multiple waveform LFO.
Long story short... you will find all those classic phase shifter tones in here as well as a heap you never knew existed. While the design borrows elements from both the phase 90 and the univibe, it certainly has a texture all of it's own. The range of the 'Depth' control is pretty large and then the 'Regen' control feeds some of the phased signal back into itself for even more intensity or upto self oscillation.
The 'Volume' control is an over all, master volume and goes from 0 to an 8dB boost so can be matched with anything you have going on, before or after.
Full TRS expression pedal control of the rate opens up more possibilities and allows you to 'play' the pedal in a much more interactive way, when your hands are being used elsewhere.
Switchable capacitors on the first two stages gives more univibe-y or more phase 90-y tones, with the univibe using staggered values instead of the phase 90's identical ones.
Switch between phaser or vibrato modes for different modulation flavours. Again this is from the Univibe and basically lifts the dry signal leaving just the phase shifted signal. It's a really great and quite unique tone and on the lower settings is great just left on as a kind of thickening agent. Like corn flour, but for tone.
